There is a rich selection of jazz music on offer in Skåne and Kronoberg. Every year, a wide variety of concerts are produced by the region’s jazz associations and organisers, which attract audiences of varying ages. Many of the concerts are organised in collaboration with Musik i Syd.

In addition to the regular seasonal activities of jazz associations and jazz clubs, Musik i Syd is also a partner of concert series and jazz festivals throughout the region and throughout the year.

Musik i Syd’s own venues of Palladium Malmö, Kulturkvarteret in Kristianstad and Nygatan in Växjö provide a constant supply of high-quality jazz music with international and Swedish musicians.

Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival is held in collaboration with Musik i Syd and is one of the country’s largest jazz events during the year. International and Swedish jazz artists of the highest quality play on unique stages among Ystad’s beautiful urban environments. The festival also has Next Jazz Generation, which provides opportunities for future jazz musicians, and the Jazzkids concert programme, which encourages children and young people to become interested in jazz. The festival’s Artistic Director is the pianist Jan Lundgren.

Jazz cafés

Our jazz café events in Landskrona have established a regular audience. With an open mind, the audiences welcome our artists and their different jazz styles. We always strive to have professional musicians who provide high quality music craftsmanship and performances at our venues. We have worked actively with the café to build a relationship with audiences and attract new visitors.

Afternoon Jazz

The Afternoon Jazz series is a new concept at Kulturkvarteret that provides fantastic jazz sounds and good food and drink in a bistro environment.

The music and atmosphere are perfect for both curious newcomers as well as already avid jazz fans. So come on in, chill out, and enjoy the fact that it’s Saturday.
